The Deadly Socks
Well today when the postman came he brought the deadly socks. Yes I am now dead from socks. They came from Bette of Ashford CT. What a lovely way to go though socks in my favorite colors and warm to. This was from Sock Wars III. I haven't heard from the person that I made socks for some time ago. She did live across the pond so maybe they got a little behind. I wasn't going to finish but ended finishing them and sending them off two weeks ago. These are really nice Love them Thank You Bette

Well today started out kind of funny but tonight was great. My friend Konnie came over for dinner and sewing. When we went to Portland last week we found this pattern" Friday Night Apron" by Vanilla House Designs. Thought it would be fun to make then serve our other halves dinner in our sexy aprons.Konnie being the lucky one she has no kids at home. I will have to find someone to make mine disappear for a night. Ha Ha We had a great time laughing and talking. I think everyone should have a best friend I'm so very lucky that Konnie is mine. Konnie is calling her apron "French Dish" and I think I will call mine "Body Art". These were very easy and didn't take long made an hour and half. There is only one thing I would change and that would be the halter size it a bit small.

New Fabrics
The smell, the feel, the colors I just LOVE FABRIC.
My friend Konnie and I went to Portland on Friday to the Fabric warehouse to pick up my order of Jinny Beyer 39 bolts. So we just had to take a look around the wear house for other things that needed to jump into the basket. For Fairy Dust Fabrics I bought Summer Fun Fabric Dots and Stripes in pale pink, light purple, powder blue, sunny yellow, and mint green it is stripes with white, dots with white background and white dots on the colored background. What fun we each got a couple new quilting books, a few notions and some fabric that we plan on using for backing but it would be lovely for the top as well.It was a 3 hour drive there and back so there was a whole bunch of laughing going on.

Well It's Graduataion
The big day is coming soon Elliott my 19 year old son is gradating in a couple weeks. Wow! it's hard for me to believe that he is done with this part of his life. Now on with the next chapter Maybe someday he'll be on Top Chief Seattle. He wants to become a chef so we'll see He and I have been through allot. As you can see Elliott is a drawf so we have been through surgeries, hard days, long days. Something about your kids though you would do anything to make their life's easier. That always hasn't been easy around here. And i have tried hard to make as normal as possible. He is a great kid and I love him.

Summer Is Gone
Well summer is gone I thought it might stick around a bit but not. The clouds are back along with the cooler weather. It was 95' on Saturday. Finshed one pair of socks and almost finshed with another pair. I think I will work on a couple other things for now one being this sweater that I am designing so that it will be done soon. I love felting and thought it would be great to have a felted sweater in my colors. Couldn't find a pattern that I really liked so I am making my own.

Quilters Market
Wow it might get up to 85' today that is like summer weather around here. Weather person said that records are going to be broken today. The doors will be open can't wait to let the sun in bake the winter away. I do wish I was at Spring Market in Portland right now smelling all that new fabric I would like to see whats new for Fall. I had such a good time in the Fall when I went for the first time. Pat Sloan signed her book for me which was very cool. Then I I met and talked to Mark Lipinski what a hoot. I would love for some of these quilters to come visit and teach some glasses here in the Northwest sometime. The quilters retail market was crazy at time times it was over whelming. It was my first time so I thought I had to do everything I did this thing called sample spree I telling you this was insane 1000's of quilters gone CRAZY!

New Fabric
I went out to dinner with my best friend Konnie tonight and then we went to the fabric store. There is something to be said about quilt stores. Found this fabric I like sculls and I like knitting so here is some with both. Love it then I found this other stuff that I needed to have. This was a good day:)
Today is Going to be a great Day
I really believe that some days are meant to not so good and others are meant to be great. All house is done, cloths are all folded and waiting for their people to put them away when they get home and dinner is in the crock pot cooking. I have the rest of the afternoon to work on a couple of unfinished projects.I have to finish up my Hoffman Challenge quilt that I am entering and a baby quilt for a friend. I love days like today I guess that bath really did wonders I was asleep very quickly last night.
I have sent my sock war socks onto their their home no it's not the right home but I couldn't seem to get them right and after trying 5-6 times I gave up. This years pattern was not at all like last years pattern I still that pattern these ones didn't seem to fit and they looked really silly. So on the waste yarn they went then into the mail. These are some socks that I started last night while watching some TV.
Funny thing about knitting socks they move very fast. Last I made socks for everyone in the family for Christmas prizes. My sons Garrett and Floyden each got two pairs. One was a nice pair that was made out of supperwash wool. The other was a nice thick, soft, washable wool for when they go snowboarding these were warm and toasty. I really didn't know if either one of them would wear the socks because they both hated wearing homemade things before. Well Garrett loved them and because Floyden wasn't really happy with his Garrett talked his brother out of his. Garrett has asked me for socks a couple time sense.Garrett is 24 and really growing into a wonderful son. It takes time for those children to grow up. You have to know That Garrett's feet are warm Ha Ha the other photo is Floyden age 22 doing his job flying around town.

A Long Day
It was a long day today maybe it had something to do with the weather. The rain was coming down the sky was gray, and the air was cold. people in the house had their grumpy pants on. Its all about the end of the day and the Hot Bubble Bath with my homemade bath salts, candle lite, my ipod playing my favorite music. Yep those bubbles seem to make all bad days go down the drain. I love how the hot bubbly water makes me feel. Warm, safe, clean, and grounded. Tomorrow will be a much better day because I had a hot bath tonight. So if your having a bad day try this and I promise that the next day will be brighter.

She is riding on the back of Gwylithyn which in Welsh means dewdrop I liked it. Butterfly's In My Garden
Today was a great day I sewed while the boys just hung out. It was very nice. I made a set of these pillow cases for a pillow case swap that I am doing for a group of Internet quilters that I belong to. I'm calling them Butterfly's In My Garden. There really is something to quilting that I love think it might be the peacefulness of the whole process. Buying the fabric the smell I love it. It's like smelling a brand new baby's head. Then you find just the right pattern cut the fabric into pieces just to sew them back together again. Yep Life Is GOOD when you have Fabric Dust.
Well it's time to watch a little TV and knit on those Sock War socks because I am a warrior may not win but I'm having fun.
May The Fabric Fairy Sprinkle You With Love, Light, and Fabric Dust.
